Recycling is the process of processing waste materials that can be reused through various methods and incorporating them back into the production process.
What is the importance of recycling?
The biggest advantage of recycling is preventing the unnecessary use of required resources and reducing the amount of waste after separation at the source. There are many materials that can be included in recycling. For example, iron, steel, copper, lead, paper, plastic, glass, and electronic waste.
These mentioned materials are reintegrated into the production process to be reused, thus preventing resource depletion. Recycling contributes not only to companies but also to Romania’s economy. For products from electronic waste recycling, you can contact us.
Recycling is a long-term economic investment. This system, which has a significant impact on preserving resources for future generations, has greatly contributed to creating new jobs and increasing the employment rate.
Materials obtained through recycling reduce the number of industrial processes, which means energy savings. For example, in the case of metal beverage cans, the metal is melted directly to obtain a new product. Thus, the purification process in the raw metal production stage is eliminated. If we evaluate this for aluminum, recycling a single can provides approximately 96% energy savings.
How is recycling done?
The method followed in recycling varies depending on the characteristics of the material. For example, the paper recycling process is as follows:
Paper is turned into a pulp and separated into fibers. Foreign materials that do not contain fibers undergo a cleaning process. Sodium hydroxide or sodium carbonate is used to separate the ink. The prepared fibers are ready for recycled paper production.

Paper recycling cannot be done continuously because each process results in a reduction in fiber length. The savings obtained by recycling one ton of paper are as follows:
- 12,400 cubic meters of carbon dioxide are eliminated.
- 17 trees are protected, which means the oxygen requirement for 34 living beings is met.
- 32 cubic meters of water are saved monthly.
- 2.4 cubic meters of storage space is saved.
- 4,100 kW/h of electricity is generated monthly. This means the electricity needs of 20 families are covered.
- 1,750 liters of fuel are saved monthly.
